It will, no doubt, surprise you to learn that the 17” iMac (which you described as being “in working condition” last week) arrived today and was found to be in “physically distressed, nonworking condition.” Weird, right? Here, check out my unboxing set on Flickr. You’d think an improvised shipping container that protected three of the computer’s 4 corners would have been good enough! Three out of four ain’t bad, right? I know! And who needs padding when the screen already has a deep gash in it? What’s the point?
Anyway, I’m erasing the hard drive now, and will lay down a fresh OS to evaluate whether or not this computer can be made to work. That’s how I’m spending my Saturday morning. At least the coffee’s in working order.
