PITTSBURGH – Approximately 4,300 Duquesne Light customers are still out of service this morning, as Duquesne Light crews work around the clock to clean up the damage left from this weekend’s heavy snows. This is down from a high of 57,000 customers reached Saturday morning.

I’m among the 4,300 stragglers Duquesne Light has managed not to get to, despite somehow having restored power to every neighborhood around mine. In Ben Avon, two blocks away, they’ve had power since Saturday at noon. Why them and not my neighborhood of Emsworth? Ben Avon’s upscale, and no Duquesne Light executives live in Emsworth.
