I introduced Heather to the world of my imaginary friends last night, when we had drinks and a nice dinner with @texburgher, @jkresen and @dascola.  (She had met @ccsteff before, very briefly at some races we ran together, but other than that it was the first time she really sat down face to face with the inevitable consequences of my crippling internet addiction.)  While, as an initial matter, it is highly intimidating for us suburban folk to be downtown after 5:30, I am happy to report that it went great.  Geoff got to show off his impressive knowledge of bees, including and especially the relative acidity or alkalinity of different species’ stings, and Heather and Julie realized they had a few mutual friends from the quote-unquote real world.  I guess the only sour note was @dascola’s constant begging for me to follow him on twitter.  For the last time, Jon, I won’t be bullied.
