This G20 post desperately needs a better title.

So, I’m going to start “blogging” about a couple of really fun projects we’re doing at “work” this month. They pertain to the upcoming G20 summit, which you know by now is being held in Pittsburgh next month. You also may - or may not - know that I live in Pittsburgh. You probably don’t know that our offices at Elliance (where I work) sit directly across the river, facing the David L. Lawrence Convention center at which the summit is being held. From an entire wall of our office, we can see into the convention center. And from the convention center, you can see straight into our offices.

We have several interesting ideas we’re pursuing, one of which is to use a Twitter account to collect shouts from around the world and broadcast them to summit attendees (and thousands of others to whom this will be visible) in Morse code from our office windows. We’re setting up the account and cobbing together our app to poll Twitter and convert the messages to Morse code right now.

A second project will feature an interactive piece in the ground floor windows of the August Wilson Center, only a block from the convention center - inside the summit security perimeter. It’s a bit more complicated to describe in writing, so future posts will rely on graphics to explain.

My goal in “blogging” about these is to share with you guys some of the incredibly fun and engaging stuff that’s keeping me (and Jon, and half our team) busy during the off hours of August and September. And maybe, in the process, I’ll learn how to blog.

But I doubt it.

More to come.
