HAPPY 2008 peeps. :)
December 2007
@igierard The entire story is worth a listen.
@JesseHambley @igierard - Have you ever listened to Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris?
There’s little sadder than a wedding that outperforms the marriage.
@igierard Who was that chocolate from?
Going to Dallas for Christmas. Anyone else out there going to be in Dallas??
@ioucoffee @simplebits for making these friendly little apps
Did nearly all my christmas shopping. How much do we have to buy??

Black & White →
God reminds us in so many ways not to judge - indeed not even ascribe meaning to - a person’s skin color or race.
CNN reported this week on Fox anchor Lee Thomas’ experience with vitiligo, a pigmentation disease that causes a failure to produce melanin. Lee Thomas is black, but in his words is “…turning […]

Mobile pownce pounces twitter turf →
The showdown has been brewing for months. And ladies and germs, it’s finally upon us.With the release of its mobile version, Pownce smacks down its Davidian challenge to Twitter’s Goliath. vs. There has been debating, hemming, even - I imagine - silent hawing. Pownce has more features, more […]
@igierard What kind of food, what place?
@chrisbaskind dugg, commented, loved.
@laughingsquid yeah, word of your best buy suit is spreading like wildfire. and no one likes best buy or wildfire.
@Bob1326 4 hours painting! that’s such a rarity anymore. my typical chunk of studio time is 2 hrs.
@igierard Right - all the search entry points are for the term “slut.”
Pownce goes mobile! http://m.pownce.com
Why is this post suddenly so popular? It’s quadrupled my blog traffic - why??? http://tinyurl.com/2zshok
Consumer spending up, ad creativity down →
Gone are the days of unexpected ads, you say? I’d tend to agree - for the most part. But vanquish the thought that there are no new ideas yet to be had. Ideas are contextual. New ideas will continue to blossom as culture changes around us. That said, cultural change of the sort that opens […]
Are you smarter than an American? →
They should rename the game show. The humiliation this woman should feel is beyond words. Here’s wishing that American men and women everywhere will let their vision wander beyond the dashboards of their worthless Escalades and Hummers, and take it upon themselves to become meaningfully aware of the world around us.
@zeldman love that Eno album.
@chrisbaskind ain’t that the truth. three boys here, all between 4 and 8. party never stops. :)
I can kick 32 fiver-year-olds’ asses at once. http://tinyurl.com/243z99
How many five-year-olds can I take? →
Special thanks to Chris Baskind from Snarfd for sharing this utterly bizarre quiz from the internets with me earlier today. If it is to be trusted, I can take on a whole horde of 5-year-olds. Go ahead. Test your morals capacity.
@sarahmeyers what makes Paris Hilton unique is how much undeserved attention we lavish upon her.
@chrisbaskind apparently I can take 32 5-y.o’s in a fight. were you willing to use one as a weapon against the others?
@chrisbaskind - your 5-year-olds post reminds me of a sick joke I learned while living in Savannah. about twenty nine year olds…
Thanks Roxio it’s about time for the popcorn 2.0.2 update. Can finally burn DVDs in Leopard.
We couldn’t resist a trip to the ER today. Littlest opened his head on the edge of a fan, so we all went for a field trip. All is well now.
I will be offline this Saturday from 10am to 10pm PST for maintenance too.
Corrected: Making migas for the middle kiddo and me. At 7, that Jack will eat nearly anything most adults are afraid of.
all: despite my leopard woes, i still far prefer my slow leoparized iMac to my newish but fickle dell xp pro laptop.
@Bob1326 don’t even bother with Adobe CS2 (at least).
@chrisbaskind for certain operations, leopard is faster. but on balance it’s worsened performance on my v1 iMac G5. :( Intel macs better?
@ryan263 (except the creature itself. so I’ll wait for 10.6 - Cheetah? Puma?)
@ryan263 leopard cons(p2): adobe CS2 slow. keyboard input slow. firefox slow. summary: EVERYTHING goes slower in leopard than in tiger.
@ryan263 leopard cons: slows login by multiplier of 3. adobe AIR b2 not happy in leopard. roxio popcorn 2.1 dies in leopard… (more)
@ryan623 leopard pros: slick gui, spaces, new finder views, improved mail app. cons follow…
I wish I could use Time Machine to restore my Mac to Tiger. Sigh…
NEARLY useless blog post but w/ great picture. http://loremipsum.wordpress.com/2007/12/14/109/
Beyond the shadow, doubt →
Well, it’s official: The US economy has the whole world worried. This week, the fed not only lowered interest rates, but also spearheaded a bold new inflationary initiative by which 40 billion dollars per month will be dumped into the global economy for months. It’s all about fluidity. But what about […]
@ryan623 still laughing about the bottles of iced tea laying stuffed in an unsuspecting colleague’s desk drawer. were they found?
@sara6633 thinking you need coffee too. easiest thought i had all day. thanks, twitter stream!
@mcnitt right. google’s databases sit in front of the websites. directly in front of them. that’s why they’re so fast. they come first.
2Pac, played over Sennheiser PXC250 noise canceling headphones effects more considerate site maps and wire frames.
@igierard deathcab can’t be named like that for nothing. deep, dark, sad, yet in its way pretty.
@Bob1326 too shameful to tweet in public.
